God’s choice for divine help: The heart of faith and obedience

That song writer – John H. Sammis in 1887 – wrote about the two golden principles of pleasing God. “Trust and Obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey”. This song is hinged on these two scriptures.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. (Heb 11:6) “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isa 1:19)

God is sincerely hunting to help those who can take Him by His word. Those that will believe He said what He meant and He meant what He said. Those that will believe Him enough to have hope in His unfailing personality in defiance to what the physical reality is copiously saying. Those that believe God as who He is described to be in the bible– the all knowing (omniscience), all powerful (omnipotent), ever- present (omnipresent). If all these are settled deep in your heart, then you are a fantastic candidate of divine help. However you need to prove this by obeying Him.

Obedience is the proof of your loyalty and faith in God. It shows you have accepted Him as your Lord. “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luk 6:46). God places so much premium on obedience. He evaluates the quality of your obedience using the following yardstick.
Timeliness: He watches for promptness in the act of obedience. He wants you to obey Him at the right time
Completeness: He is interested in completeness of the obedience. He doesn’t want you to obey his instruction partly. He wants full obedience.
Willingness: He wants you to obey Him willingly not grudgingly. Your act of obedience is first evaluated by the sincerity and willingness in your heart (1Sam 15:22)..
Humility: Even when you have obeyed Him, He wants you to be humble with it (Luke 17: 20).
Consistency: One step of obedience will always require further steps of obedience. It is actually a life long affair. That is what is called walking with God.

Your ultimate channel through which God expresses His divine instruction to you is the bible. It is your compass as you navigate through the sea of life as you journey towards the glorious city of heaven. You are required to Read, meditate and apply it to your life. Sure, God will talk to you using other means, but the bible is the basis. As you trust Him and Obey Him, you will see God show up for you more than you can imagine.

God bless you big.
