God’s choice for divine help: The weak

God has a principle that He applies when He wants to select some one to help. He either helps the weak crying to Him for help or the strong that has assumed the place of weakness before Him. He his not actually looking for those who think they can achieve something on their own without Him. Rather, He is looking for people that even when they have some things that they could have looked up to and trusted as their strength, they have literarily evaluated those things as if they are nothing if God does not help them. Yes, they have their brilliant, feasible, well-articulated plans backed up with solid commitment, training and resolution, but they acknowledge that without God all these will not work. So they look up to God and confess that they are weak and that God is the only one that is strong because they have lost confidence in their abilities without God’s help. This may look foolish in the eyes of the world but that is what qualifies them for divine helping.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. .” (1Co 1:27-30)

So as you go into this New Year with high hopes and plans, you need to go with the consciousness that none of those lofty plans and determinations will work without God’s help. So make the best of plans, back them up with solid commitment and hard work, but hand them over to God as if you have nothing. Seek God’s face and yield yourself to God more than before. By doing this you are assuming the place of weakness in the presence of God so that He can come to your aid like never before to give you the great results you want.
