Let’s take a look at these three verses of the bible that tell more about what to expect each day of our lives.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”. (Mat 6:34)
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah”. (Psa 68:19)
The two scriptures above give us contrasting reports about each day of our lives. The first one said that each day is full of evil while the other said each day is full of loads of benefits which the Lord gives. Is the word of God contradicting it self? No!! Not at all!! Each day is loaded with good and evil, it is left to each individual to consciously decide with God which of the content of the day he wants to experience. This issue is clarified in the verse of the scripture below.
“See then that ye walk circumspectly [carefully], not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is”. (Eph 5:15-17)
The natural issues that come each day are capable of blowing anybody away from God. The natural cares of this world, the pleasures, the politics, the attractions, fantasies, the want of the legitimate needs of life and other natural pulls are like wind that naturally blows against the way of the Lord. If you want to take everything that the world throws at you, you will end up in hell one day.
As a young man, if you want to look and savour all the world has to offer you (the seductive dressings of girls, the inviting pressures of fornication, the temptation to make it big fast through unholy short cuts, the temptation of drugs, immorality and every other things in vogue now-a-days) you will discover that there is a conscious and deliberate wind that seek to blow you out of God’s presence. As a young lady, the pressures from friends, ungodly parents, situations and circumstances are hell-sponsored calculated attempts to blow you away from God. The natural things that come your way each day certainly favours pleasures, lust for wealth, immorality, power and fame. The accidents, deaths, disasters and sickness that happen sporadically around actually succeed in instilling fear in some people so that instead of running to God they run to the devil seeking cultic powers for protection, thinking that is what will deliver them. Apart from the natural breeze that is blowing against spiritual life of people, there is a natural breeze of calamity, sickness, disaster, accidents and every other thing that the devil is bringing to afflict men because this is the last days. All these are fulfilment of the prophesies of the last days.
But that is just a side of the story, God is bringing great insight, foresight and blessings like never before. He said
“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit”. (Joe 2:23-29)
God as well has great goodies for this end time. His desire is to pour His Spirit upon all flesh. He wants to manifest His power greater than He has been doing in the preceding generations. He wants to bless, deliver, heal, liberate, decorate and glorify.
So once again we have two contrasting plans for this end time. The positive plans of God and the negative plans of hell. The only issue is that for you to fulfil the counsel of the devil, you just need to be your self; follow the natural dictates of your flesh; go after the lust of the flesh, pride of life, and every other pleasurable thing that comes your ways. If you can do all these, you will have all the pleasures and a good share of evil that the devil planed for you here on earth and in eternity.
“Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment”. (Ecc 11:9)
But in case you want the plans of God for you in life and eternity, you need to redeem the time. This means you need to consciously take steps that will secure your rapport with God. When the inviting hands of sin come your way to lure you into pleasure of sin, you need to see beyond the sin but the evil that comes with the pleasure. You need to consciously depart from the ways of sin and embrace the good and great things God has in stock for you. You need to trade away the pleasures of sin and grasp the pleasures available in obeying God. You need to consciously yield to God if you want His goodies for each day and not the evils in each day. You need to consciously tuck your life under the covering of the blood of Jesus.
So the choice is yours, do you want the evils in each day (disguised by the pleasure of sin) or the goodies in each day which you have access to by living in holiness and faith in God each day. To choose the evil, just please yourself. To choose the good, please God. Pleasing God start by giving your life to Christ. Accept yourself as a sinner, ask God to forgive you your sins, and decide to go and sin nor more. Consciously grasp the promises of God for you each day. Wake up each day and remind Him He promised to give you load of benefit each day. Meditate on the truth of God’s word. Speak it, feel it and consciously acknowledge that you are living in the hollow of His hands. Then you will discover that that Great Hand of God will get you the goodies He has promised you and at the same time keep you from the evil of each day. His is God’s promise for you each day.
